Can training pants replace diapers? No, these are not diapers. There is a little more padding for absorbency, but they can't hold as much urine as a diaper. Training underwear is softer than diapers and is a great in-between when transitioning from pullups.

Are these training pants machine washable? Yes, they are machine washable, but hand wash is highly recommended to prolong the life of the underwear.

Are they leak proof? There is a good amount of absorption, but they are not leak proof. They do a good job for small accidents. Bigger accidents will eventually soak through.

Is this recommended for nighttime potty training? Will this leak? No, these will not work for nighttime potty training. They are not pull-ups and do not absorb all night's urine. They do leak, but relatively less than regular underwear as our training pants have thick padding.

Do these pants need a special liner? For a big accident, you would need a backup, but for little accidents, they absorb pretty well.
